Full-Time Groomer

Groomer Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Groomer to join our pack. Happy Tails Playcare offers safe, fun, and trustworthy dog boarding, daycare, and spa grooming services. Minimum of 1 years’ experience is required, with resume, portfolio, and references. Candidate must be an animal lover with a positive outlook. As a Groomer, you should have a passion for making our Happy Tails Pack look the best they possibly can while always providing a positive experience for every dog! Equipment and Supplies provided by Happy Tails Playcare.

Groomer Duties and Responsibilities

• You must be comfortable grooming dogs of various breeds and sizes

• Perform grooming instructions per the pet parent’s request

• Provide comfort to and work with nervous dogs to encourage a positive experience.

• Proper use and maintenance of grooming instruments; including clippers, shears, dryers, combs, etc.

• Establish a direct pet parent relationship to insure a trustworthy bond

• Handle potentially difficult situations, ability to receive and positively handle any feedback from the pet parent and respond appropriately

• Keep your work area clean and neat for a safe environment.

• Ability to work with dogs that weigh over 50lbs, including bending, kneeling, and/or lifting

• Stand for long periods at a time

• Able to learn tasks outside of grooming to aid Happy Tails Staff.

• We do not accept any drama or unprofessional behavior.

Groomer Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year Experience

• Quality hand shearing and scissoring skill

• Excellent communication skills

• Provide excellent references and portfolio

• Patient and have a genuine love for dogs

• Driver’s License with reliable transportation

Pay Rate: 50/50 commissions + Tips (starting equipment provided but own clippers/shears preferred) 

Job Type: Full-time

Working Days: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Salary: $25,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
