Starting Compensation Range: $19.08 - $22.00 per hour

The Buckeye Ranch is seeking a compassionate
Family Support Advocate to join our Permanent Family Solutions Network (PFSN). The Family Support Advocate will provide direct case management services, support for children and families, and provide service coordination/linkage to community resources for both children and families.
Schedule: Full-time, Non-exempt (Mon-Fri, Shifts vary between 9am - 5pm and 11am-7pm)
Location: Whitehall, OH (Position is required to do community travel)
What you'll do: - Identify children who have been physically abused, neglected, sexually abused, or emotionally maltreated.
- Determine the level of immediate and future risk of abuse or neglect to children.
- Establish and maintain contacts with area community resources.
- Provide hands-on support and/or training in home maintenance, budgeting and any as needed training identified by family, FSS worker or PFSN CPS.
- Conduct child welfare practice in a manner consistent with fundamental child welfare values and philosophy. Ability to use casework methods to engage and empower families to.
- Provide continued feedback about what to expect with visitation and normalize parent and child feelings and behavior about visitation and involved in the child welfare system.
- Identify indicators of age-appropriate development in all domains for children of varying ages.
- Provide hands-on support, guidance, and feedback to parents/guardians regarding parenting skills development during visitation.
- Schedule and complete home visits with assigned families to aid in an array of needs, including food, shelter, clothing, medical, employment, budgeting, parenting, domestic relations, legal, security and/or protection concerns, etc.
- Complete visitation summary during the planning meeting and will turn it in with monthly reports and provide a copy to all parties during the meeting.
Who you are: - You have a high school diploma or GED, Associate's degree heavily preferred.
- You have preferably worked within Child Welfare.
- You have an active driver's license and proof of car insurance.
