Technical Buyer Houston TX, Attapulgus GA, Savannah GA, or McIntyre GA - Hybrid (3 days on site, 2 remote) We are looking for a Technical Buyer to join our Procurement (GP) team in Houston TX, Attapulgus GA, Savannah GA, or McIntyre GA. We are seeking a professional like you to join our team and support the Georgia based refinery catalyst sites day-to-day procurement activities for the assigned category mix and other locations. In this role, you will support sites and businesses with their procurement needs and will act as a first point of contact for the sites while coordinating within Procurement. You will develop strategic priorities and explore creative and strategic supply solutions for new and existing technical materials and services. You will also support the North American region in the development of category strategies, providing regional input related to supply and demand market dynamics. Additionally, you will run reports in SAP and work with Master Data, performing analysis and data management. As a Technical Buyer, you create chemistry by... Leading and managing the sourcing process (RFI, RFQ, RFP, etc.) for key contracts and complex negotiations toensure the most competitive supply advantage for BASF, as well as supporting the purchase order creation and processing as appropriate. Providing relationship management for key suppliers, which will include monitoring performance metrics, resolvingclaims and/or disputes, market intelligence, and other contributing factors affecting supply availability and pricing of products procured. Conducting market intelligence research by interacting with key suppliers, industry associations, and internal stakeholders to collect industry relevant information and rationalizing to assess impact current and future to BASF. Supporting the development of supply strategies for the North American region, you will work closely with the sites and the Procurement Category Management to develop and implement sourcing strategies for products related to this portfolio. Successfully engaging across the organization, you will work with all areas of BASF (Operations, Engineering, Accounting, EHS, Tax, etc.) and all levels of BASF, both global and regional. Being responsible for category buying for key business-specific equipment and associated services related to the maintenance and repair of this equipment Working with a wide range of suppliers and multiple levels within the supplier's organization to meet the needs of BASF. Have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Supply Chain or related fields Have 5+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering/Operations and/or Sales and Marketing Possess experience with contract negotiations Are proficient in market knowledge Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a multi-task environment and being team-oriented Are willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
