Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Fiber Technician that understands the installation, maintenance and repair of fiber cabling and splicing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of fiber infrastructure and oversee the installation process as well as provide quality control. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work in the field, ensuring that our telecommunications infrastructure operates efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the installation, repair, and maintenance of fiber optic networks conducted by a 3rd party contractors.
• Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment such as an ohmmeter for testing and diagnostics.
• Conduct field service operations to ensure optimal performance of telecommunication systems.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while adhering to safety standards.
• Document all work that is inspected and maintain accurate records of installations and repairs.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs, kneel, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods
• Ability to distinguish colors as required for the job and work outdoors most of the time
• Background check, MVR, and drug test required
