We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Consulting Purchasing Assistant to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in purchasing and inventory management to contribute to a vibrant and growing company. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing purchasing activities, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and efficient procurement processes. This role requires a deep understanding of the supply chain, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments within the organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the development and implementation of purchasing strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
2. Manage and process purchase orders and work orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
3. Monitor inventory levels and identify purchasing needs to maintain optimal stock levels.
4. Coordinate with suppliers, negotiate contracts and prices, and build strong relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods.
5. Collaborate with the shipping and receiving teams to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues.
6. Play an integral role in the procurement process, from sourcing to delivery.
7. Utilize Microsoft Excel and other software to track and analyze purchasing data, generate reports, and provide insights for decision-making.
8. Adhere to and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance and consistency in operations.
9. Provide exceptional customer service, addressing queries and issues promptly and professionally.
10. Identify and implement cost reduction strategies to contribute to the company's financial goals.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
2. Proficiency in Ten Key, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant software.
3. Strong knowledge of purchasing, procurement, and inventory management processes.
4. Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal teams and external suppliers.
5. Proven experience with SOPs, purchase orders, work orders, and cost reduction strategies.
6. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
7. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive work culture.
9. Experience in shipping and receiving is a plus.
