Professional Foster Parent

SailFuture's Residential Youth Counselors provide love, support, and accountability to six teenage boys living in a large family foster home.

Part Time Youth Counselors have a 5 day work week, working from 9am - 2pm, facilitating the school day for our foster boys. Students have online classes and work remotely from the home.

The ultimate goal is for the student to earn a place back on campus where they can join their peers for in person learning. You will develop incentive plans for the students, assist with assignments and communication with teachers on campus. You will also be responsible for making lunch for students daily.

The ideal candidate is deeply passionate about social justice, patient, and possesses strong leadership abilities.

Responsibilities:

Work with mental health, education, and case management teams to ensure consistency across youth's individual treatment and case plans

Assist students with assignments

Help students communicate with teachers

Develop incentive plans

Hold students accountable to outcomes

Other responsibilities as determined by the Program Director

Qualifications:

Team player committed to doing whatever it takes for youth in their care

Experience working with at-risk youth, specifically teenagers

Excellent communicator and problem solver

Passion for adventure

Sailing experience is a plus, but not required

This is a Live-in position. You will be expected to live on-site on your working days, but not required to on your off-days.
