Job Summary Performsa variety of tasks at the Circulation desk and will be expected to work inother departments as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities - Performs allcash register functions related to patron activities for overdue fines, lostitem charges, or the sale of items available at the Circulation desk.
- Using library system, checks items in/out; prepares and organizesitems to be shelved; returns items to shelves in proper order; maintains patronregistration; receives and processes requests for book reserves and/or documentdelivery.
- Provides customer service to all library patrons; explains librarypolicies and procedures; instructs patrons on the use of photocopiers andprinters; provides routine information; refers patrons to librarian forreference assistance.
- Answers phone and provides general library information or referscallers as appropriate.
- Providesother duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Associate'sdegree or equivalent; or six-months to one-year related experience and/ortraining; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Adeptin office systems and technology.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicatewith all groups.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Resourceful and determined to provide a positive experience for others.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to anticipate needs.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor'sdegree and experience working in an academic library.
