Salary: $50,241.00 - $60,044.00 Annually Location : Hobbs, NM Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 2025-00020 Department: Outreach & Engagement Opening Date: 06/12/2025 Description The Recruiter shall report to the Director of Outreach & Engagement. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Recruits new students with an emphasis in, but not limited to Lea County, West Texas, and New Mexico. Travel to, from, and within assigned recruiting territories, understanding that the length of trips may vary. This position will require work and travel outside the normal business hours. Understand this is a salaried position and hourly schedule is not adhered to. A valid driver's license and good driving record are required. Visit high school campuses, colleges, churches, youth camps, and affiliate associations and state youth events. Plan, arrange, and implements a personal recruitment schedule, to be approved by and in agreement with the Director of the department. Alert students and families to educational opportunities and options, admission and other requirements, policies and procedures, scholarships, and financial assistance, as appropriate. Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates programs, special projects and events, and other initiatives geared to recruiting students within targeted populations and facilitating admission. Analyzes trends in student recruitment and retention programs and participates in the establishment and implementation of recruitment and retention strategies, resources, policies, and procedures. Gives presentations for and in various settings such as parent nights in high schools or churches, colleges, community groups, on-campus informational meetings, and other public audiences. Assists with creating and distributing a range of resources and promotional materials designed for the recruitment and retention of students in targeted groups. Maintains communication via telephone, correspondence, and/or electronic mail with prospective students through all stages of the recruitment process and with other student service projects and events as requested. Interacts regularly with NMJC's Marketing leadership, in conjunction with Enrollment leadership team to develop recruiting strategies and partnerships. Coordinate tours to meet the needs of prospective students and the community. Sponsor the Student Ambassador Program. Willing to work within Marketing team culture/vision and support social media activities when necessary as a backup. Work to engage the student audience by overseeing and executing the graphic design elements of recruiting and other NMJC materials, to include, but not limited to: Die-cuts, At-A-Glace materials, rack cards, stickers, postcards, posters, web banners, digital ads, etc. Will oversee large and small recruiting events, e.g. NMJC Discovery Day, tabling events for other campus organizations, etc. NMJC vehicle will be provided for travel. May serve on various campus committees as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned or required. Nothing contained herein shall limit the President in assigning the employee to any of the various college activities for which he/she would be qualified in order to meet the needs of New Mexico Junior College. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, Education, Public Relations, Mass Communications or related field required. Completed degree(s) must be from an accredited institution. NMJC has entered into a partnership with Nor Lea Hospital to operate the Thunderbird Health Center, ensuring that high-quality healthcare services will be readily accessible to the campus community. The Thunderbird Health Center is available at no cost to NMJC students, faculty, and staff. Participants will not need insurance to access limited primary-care services at the Thunderbird Health Center. Annual CORE (Center Of Recreational Excellence) Corporate Membership is for full-time employees and their eligible family members. - NMJC offers a campus Wellness Program to promote individual wellness among members of the campus community through education and prevention. This program requires full-time employees to take ONE (1) hour each week from work to participate in physical activity. To sign up for this program, you must complete the NMJC Wellness Program Participation form and turn it in to the Human Resources Office. Staff Tuition Waiver - A full-time employee of NMJC, their spouse, and eligible children are entitled to a total of nine (9) credit hours of tuition-free credit courses per semester, including course fees. In addition, a full-time employee of NMJC, their spouse, and eligible children can take (1) community education course/offering at no cost per semester, provided (i) NMJC employed the full-time employee as of the date of registration for such class or classes and (ii) the minimum number of paid enrollees has been attained to offer the class. A full-time employee of NMJC, their spouse, and eligible children are each entitled to one (1) non-credit workforce training/program per fiscal year, provided: (i) NMJC employed the full-time employee as of the date of registration for such training/program and (ii) the minimum number of paid enrollees has been attained to offer the class.
