We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented Medical Data Entry Clerk in Evansville, Indiana. This role is focused on handling a backlog of medical records for a healthcare project. The successful candidate will be responsible for data entry, documentation, customer service, and managing billing functions, among other tasks.

Shifts Available:

Monday - Friday 3pm - 12am

Monday - Friday 12am - 6am

Responsibilities for this position include the following :

• Maintain and organize patient medical records, both physical and electronic. This includes filing new records, updating existing ones, and ensuring their accuracy and completeness.
• Process requests for medical records from patients, authorized providers, and other healthcare institutions.
• Scan and convert paper medical records into electronic format to ensure efficient access and storage.
• Respond to inquiries about patient medical information while adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations.
• Prepare and distribute medical charts to healthcare providers as needed.
• Assist with administrative tasks related to patient admissions and discharges.
• Stay up-to-date on healthcare regulations and coding practices.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a medical office or healthcare setting (preferred).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in computer skills, including word processing (MS Office Suite) and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Understanding of medical terminology (a plus).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information (HIPAA compliance essential).
