This position will primarily be drawing blood and collecting other specimens. Shift Details: Monday - Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Unit/Location: Patterson Primary Care Clinic, Grand Junction, CO. This is the fastest growing clinic in Grand Junction offering a wide range of skill utilization. As a Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care. Responsibilities include providing patient care under the direction of the Clinician by assisting the provider to gather information relative to the patient’s visit and condition, effective communication with patients through telephone and in-person interactions, and team collaboration with cross functional teams to provide needed care. Minimum qualifications include current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers, successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience or current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in Colorado, demonstrated basic computer skills, professional manner, strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively, and ability to protect privacy and confidentiality of patient information. Preferred qualifications include experience in outpatient clinic or healthcare setting, computer literacy with EMR systems, and current national MA certification. Physical requirements include manual dexterity, ability to lift and move patients and equipment, and ability to stand for extended periods. The role may require driving a vehicle. Scheduled weekly hours are 40.
