MACHINIST OPPORTUNITY with growth opportunities in an excellent manufacturing environment and family atmosphere. This position is a member of the Machine Shop. The machinist will report directly to the Machine Shop Supervisor.
Primary Responsibilities
This position is described as a CNC MACHINIST with the intent of the individual performing set-up and operation of CNC mills/ and or lathes to produce and end product that meets or exceeds design specifications. Preferred candidates should be able to create set-ups and machine needed parts with some supervision.

- Uses guarding provided and does all necessary pre-work checks.
Quality
- Progress with training on the process to inspect parts and materials used in the production process are free from quality defects.
- Work to gain the ability to accurately use and ensure calibration of measuring tools to validate diameters ranging from .02” to 20” and liner dimensions up to 120” using Calipers, Bore gauges, Micrometers, Thread gauge, Depth gauge, Height gauges, Gage blocks, Pin gages, and Hardness testers. CMM experience is a plus.
- Read and interpret schematics and drawings, including geometric dimensioning/tolerancing, communicating with Engineers as necessary.
- Train to progress with skill sets that produces quality documentation, including non-conformance reporting.
- Abide by the methods and procedures inherent in position as directed by management.
- Strong computer, Microsoft Office skills.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Machine product to required specification
- Train and progress in the ability to read & process 2-d detail prints.
- Set-up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to produce a product that meets or exceeds design specifications.
- Create and document straight forward programs, where needed. Record proper set-up documentation.
- Inspection and documentation
- Inspection of in-process product is required. Ensure product meets requirements.
- Adjust machine tools to meet specifications.
- When required, document measurements on inspection sheets
- Knowledge of machine tools, equipment, materials, and inspection methods
- Can setup and run previously run jobs in work centers that they are familiar with, whether the work center is a lathe, mill, grinder, or other piece of equipment.
- Has a working knowledge of conventional machining techniques.
- Ability to gain the experience with machining different materials including different grades of steel, aluminum, brass, PVC, UHMW, etc.
- Knows how to use traditional inspection equipment such as height gages, dial indicators, micrometers, and calipers.

- Utilizes strong written and oral communication skills often and consistently. Clearly understands the department objectives. Is interactive with cross functional team members.

- The employee shall be able to create set-ups and machine needed parts with some supervision. When direction is required, the employee should be able to seek out the proper personnel that will provide the direction.

- Demonstrates self-discipline in organizing tasking to plan and meet time and budgetary constraints, quality, and procedures.
- Basic computer skills for time reporting and facility safety inspections.

- Fluency in English
