Job Description: The Communications Specialist will work with internal partners to help develop, produce and implement communication programs targeted towards Flexential's employees.
Responsibilities include writing and developing corporate communication messages, including intranet updates, organizational announcements, employee materials, weekly newsletters, and driving efforts to help connect and personalize the executive team with our employees. In addition, this role will support People & Culture and the Executive Team on all key initiatives, ensuring that our values lead the way, helping to champion our internal culture, and increasing buy-in and ownership for P&C programs.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions - Using best practices in a channel approach, develop and execute proactive and strategic communication initiatives in partnership with P&C, leadership, and relevant teams across the Flexential organization
- Capturing the opportunity to ensure that Flexential continues to have a highly engaging company culture, telling the story in a way which leaves an impact
- Leveraging technology to ensure two-way communication and active engagement in multiple media
- Write and edit copy for employee newsletters, intranet articles, presentations, P&C programs (e.g., open enrollment, employee engagement, DEIB), organizational announcements, etc.
- Work closely with P&C Leadership to develop communication plans and drive updates of plans and delivery with partners, establishing key audiences, stakeholders, objectives, expected results, and metrics for success.
- Enhance the company culture and internal brand through effective editing to ensure highest quality and accuracy of materials produced.
- Consider diverse audiences in developing and disseminating communications
- Understand, leverage, and influence the strategy around new and existing communication channels, developing new ways to broaden the reach of company-related news and information
- Provide proactive and reactive messaging that supports key initiatives and program rollouts
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement consistent messaging across the organization
- Design and implement innovative campaigns that deliver corporate messages using the most effective communications vehicles
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Develop relationships with internal customers to conceptualize strategy, goals, and key messages and gain pertinent background of a project or campaign prior to writing.
- Responsible for going from idea to execution on short and medium term communications strategies, focusing on proactively telling more stories about Flexential's employees, culture, programs, and proactive efforts to positively impact each other and the communities in which we live.
- Maintain skills and knowledge of new developments in the field of Corporate Communications and make appropriate recommendations
- Possess knowledge of a variety of communications disciplines and maintain proficiency in more than one area
- Maintain awareness and knowledge of pertinent industry and company issues
- Creating an engaging environment during company-wide live events that authentically engages the in-person and virtual audience and prompts participation.
- Effects employee engagement as a brand ambassador by driving an authentically modelling how we "show up" well, particularly during periods of high change
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Public Relations or related field of study
- 3+ years of professional communications experience preferably in a corporate setting
- Demonstrated track record of executing innovative internal communications strategies
- Demonstrated track record of first class content production, including content strategy, copywriting, and copy editing
- Experience turning complex information into relevant, engaging, timely and valuable content - must love writing and storytelling!
- Experience producing content for diverse internal audiences at varying levels across and organization with a keen sensitivity to how and when to adjust style to meet client and audience specific needs
- Demonstrated capability of working under pressure and managing multiple projects at once, meeting or exceeding deadlines with strong attention to detail
- The ability to think from first from principles, challenge established wisdom and work well collaboratively
- Strong strategic thinking, organizational and project management skills.

- Passion, energy, and enthusiasm in driving for results
- Ability to take initiative; is self-directed, willing to roll-up their sleeves
- A dislike of hierarchy and bureaucracy but also an understanding that some structure - as well as the ability to plan - is needed to effect change.
Preferred Qualifications - Graduate degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Public Relations or related field of study with background in Corporate Communications
- General knowledge of the industry is a plus

Benefits are subject to change at the Company's discretion.
Base Pay Range : Annualized salary range offered for this position is estimated to be
$60,000 - $88,000 . However, the actual pay range depends on each candidate's experience, location, and qualifications.
Variable Pay : Discretionary annual bonus, based on personal and company performance.
