Position Summary The Information Desk Receptionist will greet and direct patients, visitors, vendors, contractors, and all other audiences that present in a warm, welcoming, and professional manner. The Information Desk Receptionist will perform all relevant and related customer service duties, including but not exclusive to registering visitors, looking up non-medical patient information in EMR, issuing computer generated visitors passes, etc. The Information Desk Receptionist will seek to assist any questions or concerns with any person they interact with during the course of duties. The Information Desk Receptionist will also collaborate with WPH Security personnel to relay and enforce visitation policies.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following: 1. Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
2. Greets and directs all user groups, including but not limited to patients, visitors, and vendors in a warm, friendly, professional manner.
3. Accesses accurate patient information using computer; review recorded comments.
4. Issues passes quickly and efficiently; enforces visitation policies.
5. Maintains positive work interactions with all staff.
6. Follows appropriate procedures with patients requesting copy of medical records.
7. Answers phone calls and works as a liaison with all hospital units/departments.
8. Follows proper procedures for vendor sign-in process.
9. Sorts and readdress patient mail as needed.
10. Assists and coordinates patient/visitor needs with others on the interdisciplinary care team.
11. Evaluates ongoing situations, keeps Security and Department Director and Manager informed of issues.
12. Coordinates volunteer help to support overall patient reception and flow throughout the CAMS building.
13. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements 1. High School Diploma or GED required- must be able to read and write English.
2. Proficient computer skills -including Microsoft Outlook, MS Word, and aptitude for learning new software systems
(e.g., MediTech, Epic).
3. Previous customer service experience interacting with diverse public preferred.
4. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
5. Mandatory in-service training as needed.

Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment •May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may
be exposed to are listed in the hospital's SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the
hospital's Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the
hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
