THE POSITION:

Program oversight, clinical development, administrative development, and outcomes of a Housing Navigation Team are some of the essential responsibilities of a Housing Navigation Manager. Working closely with other departments for purposeful coordination is a key component of the role. As a Housing Navigation Manager, you will be tasked with developing relationships with the Housing Authority, LAHSA, DCFS, DMH, community partners, and landlords. Additional responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to hiring and providing supervisorial oversight of Housing Navigators as well as oversight of program and team contract compliance, program effectiveness, evaluation, and reporting.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Provides clinical and administrative individual supervision and guidance to team members
  • Assists Assistant Directors and Director of Housing Navigation with the development and implementation of program procedures, policies, and protocols
  • Responds to identified Participant concerns and grievances
  • Facilitates Participant Wrap Meetings to review a household’s goal progress, needs, and barriers
  • Intervenes and provides support to staff when participants are experiencing crisis, immediate need, or emergencies (e.g. child abuse reporting, assessing for suicidal or homicidal risks or threats, etc.)
  • Documents all Participant interactions through case notes, using agency clinical documentation and HIPAA standards, and maintains timely, thorough, and accurate records for reporting purposes in HMIS database
  • Ensures staff accountability to meet identified administrative deadlines and program deliverables
  • Participates in agency Management Development trainings, and external opportunities to assist with professional, supervisory and leadership development
  • Coordinates with Regional Coordinating Subcontractor Agencies and Partners to ensure consistent and accurate dissemination of information, provision of services, and adherence to program requirements
  • Communicates company goals, safety practices and deadlines to team
  • Promotes team member adherence to company regulations and performance goals

WHAT YOU’RE SKILLED AT:

  • Knowledge of issues related to homelessness
  • Able to work with diverse populations and persons with high acuity
  • Self-motivated
  • Professional, friendly, and succinct written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Creative problem solving
  • Able to manage multiple project timelines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

WHAT YOU’VE ACCOMPLISHED:

  • Two (2) years of social service experience
  • At least one (1) year of relevant management experience
  • Assigned Agency Management Courses can substitute required management experience for Internal Candidates
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus

OTHER:

  • Maintains and executes confidential information according to HIPAA standards
  • Obtain and maintains CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Ability to pass post-offer Tuberculosis (TB) clearances
  • Travel is a regular duty for this position and is required 60% of the time
  • Use of a personal vehicle to travel between worksites and other locations is required
  • Must have and maintain a valid California Driver’s License and auto insurance in good standing
  • Ability to work a 9/80 work schedule
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and flex Fridays as requested
  • Comfortable working in a pet-friendly environment
