This position earns a **competitive wage of $13.50 - $16.22/hourly**, depending on experience. Medford is the gateway to Oregon's wine country and visitors will appreciate sampling the region's finest vintages along with the convenient nearby golf course and sports park. Located near Harry & David headquarters, the Compass Hotel will provide an island-inspired paradise for travelers searching for the Margaritaville state of mind. This **brand-new** hotel will feature an outdoor pool and 111 guest rooms with signature bedding and casual comforts that are ready to help guests relax, rejuvenate and escape the every day. Enjoy signature dining concepts such as 5 o'Clock Somewhere and complimentary breakfast.

**A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HOTEL HOUSEPERSON**

The Houseperson is responsible for assisting room attendants on assigned floors; collect dirty linens and transport to laundry area, deliver fresh linens to room attendant carts throughout the day. May assist with stripping linens from room and/or cleaning of public areas. Deliver and retrieve items requested by guests and housekeeping staff.

Role Accountabilities & Expectations:

* Provide exceptional customer service to all hotel guests, making their stay as comfortable and accommodating as possible while achieving team and brand goals.

* Provide a clean and safe environment for guests.

* Proactively maintain assigned areas and equipment.

* Clean and maintain common areas of the property.

* Deep cleaning of assigned areas.

* Setting up and maintaining complimentary hotel lobby functions.

* Cleaning and setting up meeting room functions.

* Delivering service items to guest rooms upon requests from front desk.

* Assist with guest luggage when required.

* Ensure efficient completion of daily assignments in a timely manner.

* Use supplies efficiently.

* Report all safety, maintenance and housekeeping concerns to management.

* Attend and participate in all mandatory trainings.

* Flexible with schedule and assignments.

* Knowledge and completion of property cleaning procedures.

* Maintain effective performance under pressure.

* Follow proper procedures for lost and found items.

* Follow guest safety procedures.

* Follow guest requests (i.e., do not disturb signs, change of linen or terry, etc.).

* Acknowledge and greet guests in public spaces.

* Review daily inventory of supplies needed to complete assignments.

* May perform similar duties as requested by supervisor.

* Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HOUSEPERSON**

* High school degree or GED preferred.

* Six (6) months hotel housekeeping experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

* Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests and employees.

* Basic reading and writing abilities are utilized often when reading. assignments, completing checklist, replacing linens and amenities.

* Ability to work day shifts, holidays, Monday through Friday, night shifts and weekends.

* Must pass and remain in compliance with drug free workplace policies.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (as required by OSHA and ADA)**

* Must be able to spend 100% of working time standing, walking and reaching.

* Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain facility.

* Frequently bending, stooping and kneeling.

* Pushing, pulling and lifting objects from a lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally, from position to position.

* Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching in narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.

* Climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.

* Must be able to carry loads greater than 50 pounds and exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently.

* Hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.

* Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
