Construction Internship

Position Summary:

A Client of Sunshine Enterprise USA is looking to hire on people looking to start a career in Heavy Civil Construction. This internship will be a lot of learning the basics of a construction site. Most duties will be general labor and helping out existing roles. A perfect candidate will be freshly finished with their education and looking for a great opportunity to jumpstart their career and gain hands-on experience in a professional setting. Ages 18-24 preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Must understand and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
• Must be on site at scheduled start time for the Daily Huddle and Toolbox Talk
• Must be able to identify potential hazards and assist in maintaining a safe work environment for all Team Members
• Maintain a flexible work schedule to include day/night shift work with extended hours.
• Able to climb ladders maintaining a 3-point contact.
• Can perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.
• Assist with layout of project and marking of roadway structures.
• Assist with MOT set up and flagging operations.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of tools and equipment.
• Be sure assigned equipment is properly maintained and kept clean at all time
• Assist in daily project inspection prior to departing, to ensure work is complete with the highest quality and all cleanup is complete.

Qualifications:

• Safety and quality orientated
• Maintain good health status and flexibility to bend, push, pull, stoop and/or twist..
• Ability to multi-task; detail-oriented

• Must possess the ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles.
• Team player and with strong interpersonal and verbal skills
• Reliance on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Dedicated and hard working

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Tampa, FL: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
