Position Summary The position is responsible for the management of the Imelda Assisted-Living group home, the coordination of activities for residents of the group home, and the supervision of the group home team members. The Group Home Manager may be required to cover shifts when necessary. Emphasis should always be on ensuring the individual rights, dignity, and self-respect of the residents, and providing maximum opportunities for community integration.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position is directly responsible to Assistant Director of Residential Services and The Senior Director of Residential Services. This position directly supervises the residential team. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, scheduling, assigning, and directing work, and appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Based upon operational needs of the Residential Program, and at the discretion of management, the Group Home Manager may occasionally be required to accommodate non-traditional and flexible work schedules including working different shifts at various locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Supervise habilitation coaches serving the residents/guests in the home and ensure they are providing physical, behavioral, and/or functional training and support as needed for each resident and documenting it as required.
- Schedule Habilitation Coaches so all shifts are covered.
- Participate in the hiring and termination decisions for habilitation coaches.
- Responsible for the training of all habilitation coaches including but not limited to the following:
- All Developmental Services mandated training on standards
- All Arc policies and procedures
- Emergency Procedures
- Medication Administration and Validation
- Behavioral Policies
- Code of Conduct
- Supervise all activities in the home and assist staff to promote social integration of residents using community resources.
- Create congenial and homelike atmosphere.
- Ensure each resident’s right to privacy.
- Purchase food and cleaning supplies.
- Plan nutritious, tasty meals according to dietician provided weekly menus.
- Assign staff a household chore list and ensure that home and furnishings are kept clean.
- Provide counseling and assistance to residents when problems and issues arise.
- Conduct monthly house meeting and maintain monthly reports.
- Ensure that residents and staff follow house rules.
- Conduct monthly emergency drills and maintain records.
- Adhere to all Arc Emergency Procedures in the management manual and in the Residential Program handbook in any emergency.
- Log and report any accident or incident to the Senior Director of Residential Services Program immediately and file a completed incident report with the Director of Human Resources within 24 hours, AHCA, APD and to DCF if mandated by law.
- Arrange appointments, transportation and/ or transport residents to hospital and/or doctor for regular or emergency treatment.
- Ensure all staff adheres to the medication administration policies and that prescribed medication is available on a timely basis.
- Maintain contact with Senior Director of Residential Services Program, Med Waiver Support Coordinators, Job Coaches, Workshop Counselors, family, etc. to meet all health, employment, and personal needs.
- Maintain resident house accounts.
- Maintain money disbursement sheets signed by resident, when applicable.
- Maintain monthly resident payroll form.
- Attend and conduct staff meetings.
- Complete all monthly paperwork and turn in to Senior Director of Residential Services Program at end of month.
- Maintain group home checkbook and turn in all receipts to Senior Director of Residential Services Program.
- Assist in ensuring proper fiscal management of the group living home.
- Report needed repairs and maintenance problems to Director of Facilities and Fleet.
- Monitor van for regular maintenance repairs and report issues to Director of Facilities and Fleet monthly. Obtain prior approval from Senior Director of Residential Services Program as needed. Maintain monthly van mileage log and quarterly inspection checks.
- Attend in-service training required by Senior Director of Residential Services Program.
- Work to enhance the stature of The Arc in the community.
- Responsible for collection of programmatic data and submission of data to Senior Director of Residential Services Program and/or Advancement Department who will maintain a comprehensive agency program database
- Responsible for submission of Budget Variance Reports to Senior Director of Residential Services Program and Controller based on monthly Statement of Activities from the Finance Department.
- Maintain the ability to meet the physical requirements of this position as related to duties at all times.
- All other duties assigned by Assistant and Senior Director of Residential Services.

Education And Experience Requirements - Associate degree in Social work, Health Care, Human Development or related field is preferred: One year’s experience with case management, residential services, behavioral management, and other human services related occupation is required. Other combinations of work and life experience may be considered in lieu of college degree on a year for year basis.
- High School diploma/GED required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Qualify for a Level II background screen.
Possess a valid driver license, reliable means of transportation, clean driving record and meet the standards of FDOT certification and update as required.
