Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Business Development to lead the development and execution of our strategic growth and business development initiatives consistent with our growth strategy. This leadership role is crucial for advancing our strategic growth objectives and expanding our services and our market presence. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in growing companies through targeted business development activities, and a strong understanding of the markets we are in, to guide sustainable and responsible organizational growth. The Director of Business Development will own achieving the company's annual Fees Commissioned goals including both company and department/group goals. This person will work collaboratively with our Senior Leadership Team to accomplish this. This position will report directly to the CEO and be a member of the firm's Senior Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop, lead, and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve company growth objectives.
- Develop and implement a high performing business development team.
- Responsible for achieving company and department/group annual Fees Commissioned goals.
- Secure significant new opportunities through your personal contacts and connections.
- Identify, evaluate, and secure new business opportunities, markets, and partnerships in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team.
- Work closely with technical departments/groups areas to identify and pursue new clients and opportunities.
- Lead annual business development planning efforts across all departments/groups and oversee execution of the plans to achieve established fees commissioned goals.
- Lead business development processes, ensuring collaboration and alignment across the company.
- Develop and manage the organizational and team structure for achievement of business development goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Track and analyze industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to inform business strategies; provide updates to market leaders and other key staff to keep them informed; advise on shifts needed in business strategies and business development efforts.
- Develop effective metrics by which to determine performance of business development activities; analyze current and past business development performance; report on metrics regularly and take action necessary to improve lagging results.
- Recommend strategies and tactics to the Senior Leadership Team on how to best achieve greater market share and profitability.
- Drive the business development mindset and institutionalization of business development skills through training efforts.
- Develop and manage the firm's client experience/satisfaction program.
- Assess performance of all staff involved in business development efforts. Recommend and lead training or other efforts to ensure all staff involved in business development have the skills to consistently and effectively achieve the desired results and meet expectations.
- Coach and mentor the business development team to achieve the desired results.
- Develop and maintain a strong business network including participation in industry organizations firmwide; provide knowledgeable representation for the firm at conferences; make contact with other firms for prospective business opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with marketing staff regarding collaterals, social media posts, articles, website updates, etc. needed to support business development activities.
- Estimated travel requirements - 50%

Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 base salary plus metric-driven bonuses for a total compensation of $170,000 -$190,000. Also eligible for additional profit-sharing bonuses.

Requirements
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
15+ years of experience in business development and successfully growing a company to achieve its goals; experience in our current, complementary and/or new professional consulting services that would propel us forward in the marketplace is strongly preferred.
Proven track record of successfully growing an organization and achieving business development goals.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Results-oriented leader.
