Crane Operator (1st Class) (Night Shift)

Location: Pascagoula, MS

Position Overview: The 1st Class Crane Operator is responsible for the safe operation of various types of cranes, including crawler crane friction and hydraulic, cherry picker, forklift, barge cranes, and gantry cranes. This role also involves assisting in the maintenance of the rig and participating in rigging tasks. The position requires night shift work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate crawler crane friction and hydraulic, cherry picker, forklift, barge cranes, and gantry cranes safely and efficiently.
• Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of cranes and related equipment.
• Participate in rigging tasks as needed.
• Perform load chart calculations to ensure safe lifting operations.
• Understand and adhere to load limits and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient lifting operations.
• Move materials and equipment as required by construction and maintenance schedules.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating various types of cranes and lifting equipment.
• Full understanding of overhead cranes, heavy lift cranes, cherry pickers, forklifts, barge cranes, load charts, and load limits.
• Experience in a shipyard environment is a plus.
• Strong understanding of crane operation safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to inspect and maintain lifting equipment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work night shifts.

• Proficiency in operating various types of cranes and lifting equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform accurate load chart calculations.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to crane operations.
