Job Description

Role: Bridge Inspector

Location: Tri-State Area (NY, NJ, CT)

Employment Type: Full-Time (W2 Employee)

About the Role

Our client, a renowned international engineering firm headquartered in New York City, is seeking a skilled Bridge Inspector to join their team. This role offers a mix of flexibility and travel, with remote work available when not on-site for inspections. As a Bridge Inspector, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and compliance of bridges across the tristate area, driving high-impact projects with precision and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspection Execution: Plan, schedule, and conduct thorough inspections of bridges and related structures, adhering to guidelines from agencies like FHWA and AASHTO while maintaining safety and efficiency.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed inspection reports, document structural deficiencies, and recommend necessary repairs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with clients, contractors, and government agencies to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Innovation: Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, regulations, and cutting-edge inspection methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Licensure: P.E. License required (NY preferred).
  • Experience: 1-5+ years in bridge inspection or structural evaluation.
  • Certification: NBIS Certification preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in inspection tools and software (e.g., BrIM, Bentley).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Preferred Knowledge: Familiarity with state and local agencies is a plus.
  • Field Readiness: Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
