Job Description

Serves as subject matter expert on matters related to enterprise cloud design and implementation within Children's Healthcare of Atlanta system. Determines requirements and plans, implements, and tests systems. Prepares standards, policies, and procedures. Mentors team members and provides leadership and guidance when assisting in problem resolution.

Experience
  • 3 years of experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure in Azure
  • 3 years of experience with proficiency in architecting scalable, secure, and robust cloud solutions
  • 1 year of experience with Terraform and Bicep for automating the deployment and management of cloud resources
  • 1 year of experience with Azure services like Azure VMs Azure storage, ACS, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Logic Apps, ACS and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or similar services in a major cloud provider
  • 1 year of experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools
  • 1 year of experience implementing and managing identity and access management solutions, using Azure Active Directory/Entra (AAD)
  • 1 year of experience with Azure monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor and Application Insights for tracking performance, diagnosing issues, and ensuring the health of cloud services

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in other cloud environments a plus
  • Experience with ServiceNOW and CMDB is preferred
  • Experience with Splunk and Log analytics preferred
  • Demonstrated ability in leading culture change within an organization towards embracing cloud technologies and methodologies
  • Experience leading lunch and learns, workshops, or other educational initiatives to spread knowledge and best practices related to cloud architecture and technologies
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, essential for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align cloud strategy with business objectives
  • Certification in Azure Solutions Architect , Amazon Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Cyber Security Architect Certification, or Azure Developer Associate

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to write, debug, and maintain Infrastructure as code (IaC), PowerShell and Azure CLI scripts.
  • Understanding of Azure networking services, including Virtual Networks, Azure Gateways, S2S VPn and Azure ExpressRoute.
  • Knowledge of source control management, preferably with Git, and familiarity with branching strategies
  • Understanding of cloud security principles and hands-on experience with Azure security tools like Azure Security Center, Azure Key Vault, Purview and Azure Firewall
  • Ability to analyze and optimize cloud costs, using Azure Cost Management, billing or third-party tools
  • Experience with cost effective designing solutions without compromising on performance and reliability
  • Ability to set up alerts and automate responses to support operational events

Job Responsibilities
  • Participates in development and maintenance of enterprise architecture diagrams and documents.
  • Conducts business information flow studies, creates architectural and technology roadmaps, and documents technology standards.
  • Makes recommendations regarding architecture plans, policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Defines and implements architecture policies, standards, and baselines.
  • Writes detailed requirements for deployment of applications, system infrastructure, and security components, and participates in focus groups to help define requirements for new and emerging technologies.
  • Provides design and product recommendations for technologies needed across the enterprise and ensures they deliver on stated use cases and business requirements.
  • Participates in the design of innovative technology solutions and develops mockups, prototypes, and proof of concept to demonstrate them.
  • Provides recommendations, alternatives, and guidance to working teams in a formalized design and architectural review process.
  • Provides integrated systems planning, recommends new or different technologies to enhance current systems.
  • Supports overall corporate and business goals and identifies technology trends and solutions to align with organizational business goals.
  • Partners closely with other architects, program and project managers, infrastructure leaders, and application development teams to ensure a consistent approach to technology roadmap and information assets which process and store data.
  • Works with developers and subject matter experts to establish technical standards for application architectures and technology, including web applications, mobile technology, cloud technology, and subscription services.
  • Supports key technology initiatives, with focus on planning, development, and implementation of architecture and monitoring directives.
  • Assists Solution Center and other teams with architecture-related questions and problems.
  • Participates in P1 leadership escalation management when requested.
