ROLE SPECIFIC EXPECTATIONS:
Shepherding:
- Shepherd, by guiding the choir as they grow in their understanding of their role as both choir members and shepherds themselves as they lead the congregation in musical worship.
- Shepherd, by supporting the choir as a community of believers that encourage one another to continually strive to become more like Christ and fully engage in the life of the church.
- Shepherd, by providing the choir opportunities to serve others with their gifts outside of the CPC family.
- Shepherd, through recruitment and care for the choir members.
Leadership:
- Work with Director of Worship and Arts to integrate the choir with worship band during corporate singing, engaging their vocal gifts in service of the congregation.
- Pursue growth of CPC choir spiritually, musically, relationally, and technically.
- Willingness to pursue opportunities outside of CPC for the choir to serve.
- Lead weekly choir rehearsal (currently 6:30-8 pm Wednesday nights).
- In collaboration with the Director of Worship and Arts, choose and develop choir pieces for the choir to sing at events, special services, and Sunday Worship services.
- Work with the Worship Coordinator and Worship Assistant in planning social aspects for the choir and develop committees to take care of individual choir-related needs (baby showers, meal trains, social gatherings, etc.)
- Coordinate needs for weekly choir rehearsals.
- Schedule accompanist for choir rehearsals as needed.
- Work closely with the Worship and Arts Coordinator and Music Assistant.
Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Education
- A degree in music is preferred or equivalent experience in leading a church choir
Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of choir experience in vocational or volunteer church choir ministry
- Experience and understanding of the different styles of choir involvement - traditional choral and contemporary chorus
- Ability to interconnect the choir into the worship service
- Possesses strong relational skills
- Ability to write or commission choral arrangements is a plus

- Have a strong personal relationship with Christ.
- All employees must commit to performing their duties in accordance with the stated mission and purpose of the church, CPC Policies and Procedures Manual, CPC 101, and the Westminster Confession of Faith. Membership at Christ Presbyterian Church will be required.
Universal / All Staff Expectations:
Worship
? Contribute to an ongoing increase of non-churched Nashville residents into Christ Presbyterian corporate worship services.
? Shepherd Christ Presbyterian members and attendees to increase the frequency of their Sunday worship attendance and engagement.
? Contribute to increased engagement of members and regular attendees in private worship involving near-daily Bible reading and prayer.
Connect
? Contribute to increased numbers and percentages of members/regular attendees who actively “befriend and bring in” people who don’t have a church.
? Involvement in Learning Groups, Connect Groups, and CPC Ministry Teams are to be especially emphasized.
Serve
? Contribute to the increase of regular member/attendee involvement and volunteerism in the church, especially on Sunday mornings and within your ministry area—strengthening CPC as a “staff led, volunteer run” church.
? Help all members/attendees under your influence engage meaningfully and enthusiastically in CPC parties, outreach initiatives, etc.
? Through regular recruiting, equipping, and support, contribute to the continual growth of CPC’s volunteer servant pool—always aiming to “turn strangers into friends, friends into family, and family into empowered servants and leaders.”
