The Behavioral Health Technician position is responsible for providing direct and supportive care to clients/patients. Duties generally include, but are not limited to, providing general oversight of day-to-day activities, redirecting clients/patients as necessary, health monitoring (vital signs), intervening/responding to crises, communicating with the established treatment team, facilitating group education/structured activities, and transporting clients/patients as needed. Behavioral Health Technicians are responsible for possessing a basic understanding of client/patient treatment plans, monitoring and documenting client/patient behavior, and providing a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment for clients/patients. Additional pay includes shift differential if hired for overnight shifts. Paid time off includes 29 days per year including vacation & holiday pay (for full-time employees). Experience and education qualifications require a high school education or equivalent and two years of responsible employment; experience in Human Services or related field preferred. Employment requirements include successful background checks, completion of new hire orientation and training, valid driver's license and insurance, first aid and CPR certification, medication administration training, behavioral management training, and ongoing training hours. Physical requirements include sedentary work with occasional lifting up to 10 pounds and repetitive movements for typing and writing.
