THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will be responsible for a variety of clerical duties including typing letters and memos, scanning, copying, faxing, emailing, record keeping, screening phone calls, and scheduling and attending various meetings. Some meetings may require you to develop agendas, compose detailed and accurate meeting minutes, and distribute necessary materials. You will oversee inventory to determine needed office supplies and obtain information for purchase orders and contracts as necessary.


Within this role, you will also be responsible for collecting data and compiling reports for administrative review. This professional processes all waiver recertifications and is responsible for maintaining a database and the Home and Community Services Information System (HCSIS) which contains pertinent information including waiver renewal dates for approximately 1,100 consumers. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop publications (brochures/flyers) that relate to Developmental Services, Early Intervention, and Waiver Program events.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Luzerne or Wyoming counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
