Come join our family-owned company!Shipping / Warehouse Team LeadJohnsonvilleHolton, KSPOSITION OVERVIEWThe Team Lead will perform as a proactive, change agent in the manufacturing facility and provide support and direction to members of a work team. The team lead will be expected to lead, motivate, and train members to achieve production results, improve individual skills, and enhance teamwork; ensure compliance with safety, quality, and sanitation requirements; function as a technical and business resource in areas of system operations and production requirements; work towards continuous improvements in line performance measures by leading actions for assigned lines; and establish and sustain effective relationships with all members in order to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Effectively lead the shipping/warehouse department in the areas of safety, quality and performance Evaluate and coordinate training needs and efforts of production team members required for the current production processes and integrate quality and safety training standards Evaluate staffing needs of the department and maintain budgeted resources to maximize line output Coach and guide team members in need of development and lead the disciplinary process by determining what, if any, discipline is needed Daily scheduling and effective resource allocation in shipping and warehouse Effectively manage member relations with the team and co-workers Effectively conduct team / pre-shift meetings Complete daily performance reports and shift paperwork Effectively communicate information to members Lead process improvement initiatives on the line Monitor progress of team in 4 critical success areas (safety, quality, cost and service) Develop and execute improvement plans in all four critical success areas Be able to create and promote a team environment, manage conflict, and resolve current issues Be a role model to all members Effectively manage all aspects of safety on the line; address issues with safety immediately, and be a safety champion Perform all administrative duties within shipping department Ability to use prime movers and forklift to support the shipping dock and blend departments as needed Manage day to day inventories to ensure FIFO is being utilized Maintain floor presence within assigned area every day Effectively and timely communicate shipping / receiving needs or changes with Johnsonville TransportationJOB QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 1 year experience in leadership/supervision Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree preferred, but not required Knowledge of secondary language preferred, but not required Demonstrated communication and listening skills and ability Demonstrated ability to problem solve effectively and efficiently Strong interpersonal skills Ability to lead by example and also involve others in the decision making process (team player) Ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible by adjusting priorities Act as a change agent Ability to innovateIn order to enhance growth and flexibility within our facility the ability to rotate shifts may be requiredLocation: Holton, KSMember Status: Full TimeHours: Multiple Shifts (Based on 1st Shift, must be willing to rotate to other shifts for cross-training and development)We value the diversity of our workforce and we embrace the principles of Equal Opportunity Employment.
